“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

Mary Oliver

How all this started…

I’ve had a pretty amazing life so far and look forward to many more years of amazing and extraordinary things to see, explore and experience. I grew up on a ranch in Wyoming, went to school and played hoops at Arizona State University and eventually moved to Denver, Colorado to coach and get married. My partner and I immediately started exploring the wide open spaces and I always had a camera with me where ever we traveled.

Then we took a big risk and moved to work in Brussels, Belgium for 4.5 years and again I had a camera, film and lots of time on my hands to travel and explore. Even when we moved back to the U.S., we traveled and lived in many interesting and beautiful places. We finally settled here in the Pacific Northwest and have been here for over 20 years.

All that time, I played with my little Canon AE1 and even learned to print my own photos. So I’ve been walking around with a camera in my hands for many years, getting into digital photography as soon as I could afford it. Now I just want to keep learning about creating interesting visuals and telling stories with my art.

I also enjoy creating work in Procreate, Rebelle and other digital drawing/painting apps on iPad, and editing photos in Lightroom and Photoshop. I love movies, am learning more about cinematography and animation and hope to get better at making my everyday stories come to life on screen or in print.

This website is my way of sharing my work, ideas, my projects and travels, and staying active creatively. I hope you find something of value here and can bring it home to your own artistic work.
