We get a number of little birds that winter over here in the Pacific Northwest. I have a nice feeder area out back that attracts them close enough for me to practice my bird photography and catch some unique poses and behavior as they manage their perches around the food. I combined a couple of shots here and composited in the branches and a background from Jai Johnson’s Farm Collection textures.
I enjoyed creating this one using a combination of Procreate, Repix, Distressed Effects, Snapseed, and iColorama apps on my iPad. I can then take it into Photoshop and play even further with filters plug-ins such as Topaz or Nik plugins by DxO. Also using elements from foxeysquirrel and model faces from The Colby Files.
Title: “Georgiga Curiosa”
This started with a photo of a model in a red flowing dress, added a fractal background made in FraxHD, created the “melting look” with Form>Sort feature in iColorama, then finished with metal textures from iColorama layered and masked on top.
It’s not always that things work out without a lot of effort, but this image just sort of happened while exploring iColorama on my iPad.
A worthy goal for my summer is to create and share some of my work. I’m an Austin Kleon fan (hence the quote on this page ). I do believe that one of the braver things we can do with our art, our talents and our work in general is to show up and to share. And make our contributions as carefully and caringly as we would a gift to a friend. Not sharing to gain followers, get “likes”, or “build an audience”. Just sharing with the universe to see what happens. So this site is open for sharing as of today.
